CBS All Access has renewed Star Trek: Discovery for Seasons 4 and 5, reliable insiders have informed Cancelled Soon TV.
The twin-season renewal comes months ahead of the show’s August 2020 Season 3 premiere.
Per insiders, the Star Trek: Discovery Season 4 and 5 renewal was “a no-brainer” for the network, which has already spawned several Star Trek spinoffs including Star Trek: Picard and the upcoming Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, which has already been picked up for Season 2.
Star Trek: Discovery Season 4 is slated to premiere in 2021 followed by Season 5 in 2022.

New episodes of STAR TREK: DISCOVERY's 13-episode third season will be available on demand weekly on Thursdays exclusively for CBS All Access subscribers in the United States.
After following Commander Burnham into the wormhole in the second season finale, season three of STAR TREK: DISCOVERY finds the U.S.S. Discovery crew landing into an unknown future far from the home they once knew. Now living in a time filled with uncertainty, the U.S.S. Discovery crew, along with the help of some new friends, must work together to restore hope to the Federation.

Seasons one and two of STAR TREK: DISCOVERY are available to stream now on CBS All Access, and the series is distributed concurrently by ViacomCBS Global Distribution Group on Netflix in 188 countries and in Canada on Bell Media's CTV Sci-Fi Channel and OTT service Crave. In addition to STAR TREK: DISCOVERY, the "Star Trek" franchise on CBS All Access currently includes hit original series STAR TREK: PICARD; upcoming new animated comedy series STAR TREK: LOWER DECKS, which premieres on Thursday, August 6; the recently announced U.S.S. Enterprise set series STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS, featuring Anson Mount, Rebecca Romijn and Ethan Peck; and the development of a Section 31-based series with Michelle Yeoh. A CG-animated series aimed at younger audiences is also in the works for Nickelodeon, titled STAR TREK: PRODIGY.

Sept. 8, 2021 - Paramount+, the streaming service from ViacomCBS, today revealed that season four of its hit original series STAR TREK: DISCOVERY will premiere on Thursday, Nov. 18, exclusively for Paramount+ subscribers in the U.S. The announcement was made during the STAR TREK: DISCOVERY panel that took place at today's global live-streamed Star Trek Day celebration. The date was revealed following a sneak peek clip from the upcoming fourth season, introduced virtually by series star Sonequa Martin-Green.
The STAR TREK: DISCOVERY panel featured cast members Wilson Cruz, Blu del Barrio and Ian Alexander and showrunner and executive producer, Michelle Paradise, and was moderated by host Wil Wheaton.
The remaining Star Trek Day celebration panels are available to live-stream for free at StarTrek.com/Day and on Paramount+ and Paramount+'s Twitch page in the U.S. The Star Trek Day panel schedule can be found at StarTrek.com/Day. After their initial airing, the panels will be available on-demand on Paramount+'s YouTube Channel and on Paramount+.
Season four of STAR TREK: DISCOVERY finds Captain Burnham and the crew of the U.S.S. Discovery facing a threat unlike any they've ever encountered.
