The executive producer of The Winchesters, Jensen Ackles, expressed his thoughts on the show officially ending due to the inability to find a new network home. Ackles mentioned the unfortunate timing, referring to a network shift and an industry strike, in a tweet where he also thanked fans for their support in trying to save the show after it was canceled by the CW.
Despite efforts by Warner Bros. Television, the producing studio, to secure a second season for The Winchesters at another network or streaming platform following its cancellation by the CW, no success was achieved. All options were explored, but the search for a new home has now concluded, marking the end of the Supernatural franchise, at least for the time being. Jensen Ackles, who is both an executive producer and a star of Supernatural, led a strong campaign, #SaveTheWinchesters, to keep the show alive.
