Prime Video has announced that Season 2 of the epic fantasy series The Wheel of Time will premiere on September 1, almost two years after the highly successful debut of the first season. The network has also released new images giving audiences a glimpse of what to expect in the upcoming season.
The Wheel of Time is based on the immensely popular fantasy series by Robert Jordan. The story follows Rand al’Thor (played by Joshua Stradowski), a humble farm boy who discovers that he is the prophesied savior known as The Dragon Reborn. Rand’s immense power and potential to either save or destroy the world make him a target for the Dark One. A group of powerful sorceresses must grapple with his growing abilities and encroaching madness in their desperate attempt to protect him. As the Wheel of Time turns and the Last Battle looms, Rand realizes that evil still persists in the world despite his earlier victory over the Dark One. In the second season, both new and ancient threats emerge, seeking the young friends from the Two Rivers who are now scattered across the world. With the woman who guided them now powerless, they must find strength within themselves and each other, choosing between the forces of Light and Darkness.
