The Max original series Warrior is set to debut its third season on June 29 with two new episodes, according to Deadline, which has released a teaser trailer for the show.
Based on Bruce Lee’s writings, the gritty crime drama is set in San Francisco’s Chinatown during the late 19th century Tong Wars.
Season 3 takes place after Season 2’s race riots, and the characters are struggling to survive amidst the new challenges. The co-showrunners and executive producers of the show have teased that the new season will delve deeper into Ah Sahm’s journey to become the hero his people need, while also dealing with his family obligations and passion. Additionally, this season will have more action and adventure, with Ah Sahm facing new challenges and making tough decisions.
The show continues to address racism against the AAPI community, an issue that is still relevant today.
To commemorate Bruce Lee’s 50th death anniversary, there will be a special guest star mid-season paying homage to the martial arts legend.
Warrior is produced by Perfect Storm Entertainment, Tropper Ink Productions, and Bruce Lee Entertainment, with Evan Endicott, Josh Stoddard, Jonathan Tropper, Justin Lin, Danielle Woodrow, Andrew Schneider, Shannon Lee, Brad Kane, and Richard Sharkey as executive producers.
