Fox has officially canceled the medical drama series, “The Resident,” after six seasons due to a significant decline in ratings. Season 6 saw a 12% decrease in viewership compared to Season 5 and a 35% decrease compared to Season 1. The series concluded with the 107th episode titled “All Hands On Deck,” where Conrad Hawkins declared his love for Billie Sutton, Ian Sullivan revealed his drug addiction, and Leela Devi and Devon Pravesh became engaged. Notable cast members included Emily VanCamp, Morris Chestnut, and Jenna Dewan, among others. However, Fox has ordered a new medical drama series called “Doc,” which will premiere during the 2023-24 season and will focus on Dr. Amy Elias, who must navigate an unfamiliar world after a brain injury erases the last eight years of her life.
