Prime Video and BBC are working on a second season of The Night Manager, a series adaptation of John le Carré’s 1993 novel of the same name. They are yet to release a formal announcement for the series renewal. However, according to reports, the series will get a two-season renewal. Filming will start later this year with a script by David Farr, who wrote the first season.
The show centers on Pine, a former British soldier and night manager of a five-star hotel in Cairo who is hired by the manager of a Foreign Office taskforce to infiltrate Roper’s inner circle. In the upcoming sophomore season, Tom Hiddleston will reprise his role as Jonathan Pine, the hotel manager who got involved in a deadly duel with arms dealer Richard Roper. The Syrians took Roper at the conclusion of Season 1, and now Pine must contend with a new and even deadlier threat.
Season one premiered on Feb 21, 2016. Alongside Hiddleston, the cast includes Hugh Laurie, Olivia Colman, Tom Hollander, and Elizabeth Debicki. BBC will co-produce the upcoming season, just like the first. However, unlike the first, which was co-produced by and aired on AMC, this season is being produced for Prime Video.
Susanne Bier serves as the director. David Farr, Susanne Bier, Simon Cornwell, Stephen Cornwell, John le Carré, Stephen Garrett are the EPs for The Night Manager.

About The Night Manager TV Show
A contemporary interpretation of John le Carré’s espionage drama - and the first television adaptation of a le Carré novel in more than 20 years - The Night Manager brings together love, loss and revenge in a complex story of modern criminality.
The series follows former British soldier Jonathan Pine (Tom Hiddleston) who is recruited by intelligence operative Angela Burr (Olivia Colman) to infiltrate the inner circle of international businessman Richard Onslow Roper (Hugh Laurie) and detonate the unholy alliance he has ministered between the intelligence community and the secret arms trade.
To get to the heart of Roper’s vast empire, Pine must withstand the suspicious interrogations of his venal chief of staff Major Corkoran (Tom Hollander) and the allure of his beautiful girlfriend Jed (Elizabeth Debicki). In his quest to do the right thing, he must first become a criminal himself.
