The drama series, The Mosquito Coast, will not return for a third season on Apple TV+. They revealed the news two weeks after Season 2’s run came to an explosive conclusion. Since the second season finished just two weeks ago with a shocking cliffhanger, it left fans wondering about Allie’s destiny. It is unclear why Apple decided to cancel the show at this time.
The Mosquito Coast follows the arduous journey of talented inventor and stubborn idealist Allie Fox as he uproots his family and embarks on a dangerous search for refuge from the US government, drug cartels, and hitmen.
The Fox family was shown in the most recent chapter barely making it out of Mexico before traveling deep into the forest of Guatemala to meet up with an old acquaintance and her community of refugees. However, when the Foxes become involved in a dispute between a local drug lord and his family, this new refuge causes them problems. Allie and Margot are in conflict over whether to settle down or continue traveling, so they choose different trajectories to secure their family’s future. These choices will either bring the family together or forever sever it.
The series stars Justin Theroux, Melissa George, Logan Polish, and Gabriel Bateman. Executive producing the second season are Mark V. Olsen, Will Scheffer, Stefan Schwartz, Evan Katz, Rupert Wyatt, and writer Paul Theroux. Veritas Entertainment Group’s executive producers are Bob Bookman, Alan Gasmer, and Peter Jaysen. “The Mosquito Coast” was designed and developed by Tom Bissell and Neil Cross. Cross works as an executive producer as well. Also, Fremantle backs the Apple TV+ series.
