During the New York Comic Con panel of The Legend Vox Machina, they revealed that the animated series got the green light for a third season. The critically acclaimed series is an adaptation of Critical Role’s first Dungeons & Dragons campaign. It premiered its first season on January 28 this year and received a “Certified Fresh” ranking on Rotten Tomatoes, with a score of 100%.
Along with this news for renewal, there were other important announcements during the event. The 12-part second season will premiere on Prime Video this coming January 2023, and they shared a clip to give the anticipating audience a first look at season 2. The cast and executive producers took to the stage and gave fans a brief idea of what to expect for the upcoming season. Additionally, they revealed that it picks up on the cliffhanger in the first season and teased epic dragon fights and changes in relationships. “That clip is such a tiny moment in an epic scene and I can’t wait for you to see it!” Mercer said.
The main cast includes Laura Bailey, Taliesin Jaffe, Ashley Johnson, Matthew Mercer, Liam O’Brien, Marisha Ray, Sam Riegel, and Travis Willingham. They will reprise their roles as their player characters. They also serves as executive producers alongside Brandon Auman (Star Wars: Resistance), Chris Prynoski (Metalocalypse), Shannon Prynoski (Fairfax), and Ben Kalina (Big Mouth). The Legend of Vox Machina is a production of Amazon Studios, Critical Role, and Titmouse for Prime Video.
