HBO’s “The Gilded Age” is set to return with an eight-episode second season, premiering on Sunday, October 29 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
The show unfolds during the eponymous Gilded Age in America, a time of significant economic transformation, marked by conflicts between traditional norms and emerging systems, and characterized by fortunes rising and falling.
In Season 2 of “The Gilded Age,” the narrative opens on Easter morning 1883, revealing that Bertha Russell’s (Carrie Coon) attempt to secure a box at the Academy of Music has been rebuffed. Meanwhile, George Russell (Morgan Spector) confronts his own struggle with an expanding union at his steel plant in Pittsburgh. At the Brook House, Marian (Louisa Jacobson) continues her quest to find her path by secretly teaching at a girls’ school, while Ada (Cynthia Nixon) surprises everyone with a new romantic connection. Naturally, Agnes (Christine Baranski) disapproves of these developments.
In Brooklyn, the Scott family begins to mend following a shocking revelation, and Peggy (Denรฉe Benton) channels her activist spirit through her collaboration with T. Thomas Fortune at the NY Globe.
“The Gilded Age” is brought to life by creator, writer, and executive producer Julian Fellowes. EPs also include Bob Greenblatt, Gareth Neame, Salli Richardson-Whitfield, and David Crockett, alongside director Michael Engler and writer Sonja Warfield. The show is a collaboration between HBO and Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.
