Food Network is now cooking up a second season for the primetime series Superchef Grudge Match, featuring Darnell Ferguson as host. Betsy Ayala, Head of Content, Food, Warner Bros. Discovery, was the one who gave the announcement. New episodes of the eight-part season two will premiere in early 2024, with production set for later this year.
“Our viewers love seeing these chefs settle their real-life conflicts and Darnell is the perfect host to lead all the action,” said Ayala.
“Superchef Grudge Match has quickly become a fan-favorite and we are thrilled to announce more culinary feuds will be resolved in season two,” she added.
“Season one of Superchef Grudge Match was an amazing experience and only just the beginning, I cannot wait to settle more food rivalries in season two,” said Ferguson.
The show holds the record for Food Network’s highest-rated freshman launch of the year and has garnered 8 million P2+ viewers up-to-date. It has outperformed previous six-week timeslot benchmarks by +57% among P25-54 and +72% among W25-54. Knuckle Sandwich and Lando Entertainment produce Superchef Grudge Match for Food Network and discovery+.
In each episode of the competition series, Ferguson invites two superstar chef rivals for one-round battles to settle their disputes. The winner gets $10,000 cash, bragging rights, and a prized knife from the losing chef. Season one of the series airs on Food Network every Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Also, you can stream it on discovery+.
