HBO Renews Comedy Series SOMEBODY SOMEWHERE For A Second Season
ยท HBO announced today that the critically acclaimed comedy series SOMEBODY SOMEWHERE has been renewed for a second season.
Starring and executive produced by comedian and singer Bridget Everett, the seven-episode first season debuted January 16, with new episodes airing weekly on HBO and HBO Max. The season one finale debuts on February 27. From Mighty Mint, Duplass Brothers Productions, and creators & executive producers Hannah Bos and Paul Thureen (writers on HBO's "High Maintenance"), the series follows Sam (played by Everett), a true Kansan on the surface, but, beneath it all, struggling to fit the hometown mold. Grappling with loss and acceptance, singing is Sam's saving grace and leads her on a journey to discover herself and a community of outsiders who don't fit in but don't give up, showing that finding your people, and finding your voice, is possible. Anywhere. Somewhere.
ยท Cast: Season one stars Everett alongside Jeff Hiller ("Nightcap"), Mary Catherine Garrison (HBO's "Veep"), Danny McCarthy ("The Ballad of Buster Scroggs"), and Mike Hagerty (HBO's "Lucky Louie"). Recurring cast includes Murray Hill ("Welcome to Flatch"), Jon Hudson Odom (HBO's "Lovecraft Country"), Heidi Johanningmeier ("100 Days to Live"), and Jane Brody ("Chicago Fire").

Hannah Bos (HBO's "High Maintenance") & Paul Thureen ("Driveways") created the show and will serve as executive producers, along with Carolyn Strauss (HBO's Chernobyl), Patricia Breen (HBO's Betty), and from HBO's upcoming fourth and final season of "Room 104," Mark Duplass, Jay Duplass, Mel Eslyn and Tyler Romary. A production from The Mighty Mint/Duplass Brothers Productions, Jay Duplass directed the pilot last year on location in Chicagoland.

Labeled by Jerry Seinfeld as "one of the greatest live performers" he has ever seen, "a mouthy, flesh-jiggling early Bette Midler" by the New York Times, Bridget Everett is a singer, actress and comedian whose explosive and unpredictable performances have been a highlight at comedy festivals around the world. Bridget, who recently co-starred in the HBO series "Camping," can next be seen in Tate Taylor's "Breaking News in Yuba County" opposite Allison Janney, Mila Kunis, and Regina Hall, and produced by Jake Gyllenhaal. Film credits include "Patti Cake$" and "Fun Mom Dinner". Bridget has also appeared in Judd Apatow's "Trainwreck" and HBO's "Girls," HBO Max's "Excpecting Amy," along with "Inside Amy Schumer," "2 Broke Girls," "Unbelievable," "Lady Dynamite," "AJ And The Queen" and "Living With Yourself." Everett and her band, The Tender Moments, perform regularly to sold-out crowds. Their album, Pound It, is available now on iTunes. Bridget recently starred in the hit off-Broadway show "Rock Bottom" at the Public Theater in New York and received stellar reviews.
