Royal Crackers follows Theo Jr., a single bass guitarist striving to recreate his glory years, and Stebe, a family man with a wife and child, as they reside in their comatose father’s home. They wait for him to pass away (he never does) so they may inherit his once-successful cracker company. Along with Ruiz, it stars Andrew Santino, Jessica St. Clair, David Gborie, Maile Flanagan, and Fred Tatasciore. Titmouse produces. Also, Ruiz and Seth Cohen serve as executive producers.
In a press release from Adult Swim, the people involved in the series stated:
“Television has done a great job exploring how families clash over the fate of oil, media, or cattle empires, but until now, no one has had the courage to address the savory snack food industry,” explained Michael Ouweleen, President of Adult Swim and Cartoon Network.
“We’re all super grateful Adult Swim gave us the chance to tell more stories about our characters,” added Ruiz. “And if you can’t wait to see what happens in season two, then buckle your seatbelts for season one.”
