Deadline has confirmed that Netflix has decided to cancel the spinoff of On My Block called Freeridge after it had aired for only one season. The show is a coming-of-age comedy consisting of eight episodes that follow the lives of sibling rivals Gloria and Ines, and their friends Demi and Cameron, who experience dark misfortune after unleashing a curse. The series features Michael Solomon and Zaire Adams as well. The return of some On My Block favorites like Paula Garcés, Eric Gutierrez, Eme Ikwuakor, Raushanah Simmons, and Peggy Blow, who played Marisol Martinez, also made an appearance in Freeridge. Co-creators and executive producers Jamie Uyeshiro, Eddie Gonzalez, Jeremy Haft, and Jamie Dooner collaborated with Lauren Iungerich, who was the showrunner and also a co-creator and executive producer of the series.
