Paramount+ has officially renewed Mayor of Kingstown for a third season, featuring Jeremy Renner in a leading role. The rumors about the series’ renewal had been circulating for several months. Renner himself added to the speculation back in May when he shared a slideshow of his character from the show on social media, along with the caption, “Is it time to mentally prepare for season 3?”
Jeremy Renner is set to return to Mayor Of Kingstown after undergoing an extensive recovery process following a severe injury in a snowplow accident on January 1. This accident resulted in over 30 broken bones. Season 2 of the series premiered just two weeks later, on January 15, and concluded on March 19.
Mayor of Kingstown is widely regarded as one of Paramount+’s top-performing original dramas, second only to Taylor Sheridan’s 1923 and Tulsa King during its current season.
The series revolves around the McLusky family, who are influential figures in Kingstown, Michigan, where the prison industry is the dominant business.
Mayor of Kingstown is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios, and Bosque Ranch Productions. The executive producers include Taylor Sheridan, Hugh Dillon, Jeremy Renner, Antoine Fuqua, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, Michael Friedman, Dave Erickson, and Regina Corrado.
Taylor Sheridan’s projects on Paramount+ also include Special Ops: Lioness, 1923, 1883, Tulsa King, and the upcoming series Lawmen: Bass Reeves and Land Man.
