The new series Madame X did not survive the purge of HBO Max. HBO Max has made headlines recently for several cancellations, most notably the almost finished Batgirl movie. The new series from filmmaker Angela Robinson (Professor Marston and the Wonder Women, True Blood) called Madame X, which already has a pilot script, was going to center on the DC comics character Madame Xanadu, one of the founding members of the Justice League Dark.
Its executive producers for Bad Robot, Abrams and Rachel Rusch Rich, also have another cancelled show under their belt. According to sources, HBO Max decided to cancel Madame X and ‘Constantine’ reboot due to the existing seven DC content in their streaming service. Warner Bros. Television and Bad Robot remain optimistic that the projects might move to a different home in the future. Let us keep our fingers crossed! Let us hope to see the live adaptation series soon.
