FOX confirmed the renewal of Krapopolis by Emmy Award-Winning Dan Harmon (Rick and Morty co-creator) for a second season. Michael Thorn, President of Entertainment, FOX Entertainment, gave the announcement. The news came months before its first season premieres on May 2023.
The animated comedy series centers on the mythical ancient Greek setting of Krapopolis and focuses on a dysfunctional family of humans, gods, and monsters trying to manage the earliest cities in the world, as they try to do it without attempting to kill one another.
“As you can imagine, anything Dan Harmon does is unflinchingly irreverent and filled with his signature, bold characters; and these early episodes of ‘Krapopolis’ far surpass even our highest expectations,” said Michael Thorn. “While we continue to evolve Fox’s animation brand, it’s a true delight watching Dan and his team work their magic on the series. But it’s an even bigger thrill to be so confident in this special project to be able to reward it with an early renewal.”
Emmy Award winner Hannah Waddingham, Richard Ayoade, Matt Berry, Pam Murphy, and Duncan Trussell all lend their voices to the show. Produced by FOX’s Emmy-winning animation company and Bento Box Entertainment, the animated series is the first fully owned animated series by FOX Entertainment. At MIPCOM Cannes, Fox Entertainment Global will present the comedy to international program buyers.
