About I Am Jazz TV Show
I AM JAZZ - Premieres on Tuesday, November 30 at 10pm ET/PT
In 2018 Jazz Jennings underwent groundbreaking affirmation surgery to align her body with her mind. Although she experienced complications, Jazz emerged stronger and happier than ever. Upon graduating as Valedictorian of her high school, Jazz was accepted to Harvard University. Prior to her first semester, she experienced a mental health condition,, so she took a gap year, allowing her to focus and get back on track to feel more like herself. While Jazz is excited to get to Harvard, she is worried she will be taking on a lot in addition to dealing with her significant weight gain over the course of the pandemic. With her eye on the Harvard prize, Jazz embarks on a weight loss program and throws herself into an internship with a plastic surgeon. This season also highlights the strength of the Jennings family and their bond. Jazz's older brother Sander has found his passion in being a vocal ally for the LGBTQ+ community and considers dating a beautiful trans woman who has caught his eye. Meanwhile, Griffen enters his second year of Law School and Ari is off to Arkansas for her PH.D. And finally, as many parents can relate to, Jeanette and Greg will find themselves at home as empty nesters!

Meet Jazz Jennings! Although born male, Jazz is a transgender female and has been living as a girl since kindergarten. Parents Jeanette and Greg have spent the years finding doctors to treat their daughter, while fighting the discrimination and misconceptions associated with what it means to be transgender. But, now that Jazz is 14, she is on the brink of the biggest challenge of her life: high school.
Twelve years ago, at the age of five, Jazz started her transition to becoming the girl that she has always been, and she dreamed that one day her inner and outer self would be in alignment. This season, that dream becomes a reality and viewers are there every step of the way as Jazz prepares for and experiences the biggest, most personal event of her life - gender confirmation surgery. Throughout the season, fans witness other major milestones, including Jazz attending her first prom and celebrating her 18th birthday, while continuing to navigate life's ups and downs alongside her close-knit and supportive family.
When she's not filming, Jazz devotes much of her time advocating for LGBTQ rights, sharing her story with people across the country in an effort to educate and inspire others. She has accumulated many prestigious awards and honors throughout her lifetime, including TIME Magazine's Most Influential Teens (2014 and 2015), The Advocate magazine's "Top Forty Under 40" annual list, OUT Magazine's Top 100 list, Teen Vogue's "21 under 21" list, HRC's Upstander Award for 2017 and the 2015 Trevor Youth Courage Award to name a few.
