Apple TV+ has greenlit a second season for “Hijack,” the gripping drama starring Idris Elba. Season 1, a Nielsen Streaming Originals Top 10 hit, showcased Elba as Sam Nelson, a skilled negotiator thrust into a high-stakes situation to save passengers on a hijacked plane bound for London. Details about the plot of the upcoming season remain undisclosed, but it will undoubtedly feature Elba’s intense performance. Executive produced by Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, and Tom Nash at 60Forty Films, and George Kay and Jim Field Smith of Idiotlamp Productions, with Field Smith serving as lead director. Elba, also an executive producer, expressed excitement about the audience response to Season 1, promising a new high-octane adventure for Sam Nelson in Season 2.
