NBC has decided to cancel the TV show Grand Crew after two seasons. The network made this announcement alongside the cancellation of Young Rock after three seasons, while the future of American Auto is still undecided. However, NBC has picked up the single-camera workplace comedy series St. Denis Medical, starring Wendi McLendon-Covey and David Alan Grier.
Grand Crew, starring Echo Kellum, Justin Cunningham, Grasie Mercedes, Carl Tart, Aaron Jennings, and Nicole Byer, explores the joys and challenges of life and love among a group of Black friends at a wine bar. The show was created by Phil Augusta Jackson, with executive production by Dan Goor.
The second season of Grand Crew averaged approximately 1.2 million viewers and a 0.18 rating in the 18-49 demographic, according to live + same-day Nielsen data. This marked a significant decline from the first season, which had an average audience of 1.6 million viewers and a 0.3 rating. The premiere episode of Grand Crew was the highest-rated digital comedy launch on Peacock, NBC’s streaming platform.
Season 2 premiered in March and concluded its ten-episode run in April. The series is produced by Universal Television in association with Dr. Goor Productions and P-Jack Industries.
