The teen drama series based on a novel by Cecily von Ziegesar is a reboot of the acclaimed TV show of the same name that aired from 2007 to 2012. The reboot debuted in 2021 to great acclaim; at the time, HBO Max reported that it was the most-watched original series debut on its platform. Late in 2022, the second season began with little hype, but at the same time, it got a better rating from the critics, scoring a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes rating vs. 69% for Season 1.
The Gossip Girl revival presents more inclusive stories and a new, more diverse cast, including Jordan Alexander, Whitney Peak, Emily Alyn Lind, Thomas Doherty, Evan Mock, Ziรณn Moreno, Eli Brown, Grace Duah, Tavi Gevinson, Michelle Trachtenberg, and more. However, not all hope is lost. According to reports, the show can find a home on a different network or streaming service.
