It’s official! You will be seeing more of your favorite angel and demon duo. Amazon Prime confirmed the season two premiere date and shared first looks for the critically-acclaimed series Good Omens on their NYCC panel. The upcoming season will debut sometime around the summer of 2023 and will begin filming in Scotland later this year. The series is a drama adaptation of Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett’s book Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch and is slated to have six episodes.
As the angel Aziraphale and the demon Crowley, respectively, Michael Sheen and David Tennant will return. Shelley Conn, Maggie Service, and Quelin Sepulveda have all joined the cast, and Miranda Richardson and Nina Sosanya will make their returns in new roles.
For this new season, Amazon teased that they will explore storylines that go beyond the original source material. Aziraphale and Crowley, who have been on Earth since The Beginning and have prevented the end of the world, are settling back into life among humans in London’s Soho when an unexpected messenger arrives with a stunning mystery.
Along with fellow EP and director Douglas Mackinnon, Neil Gaiman will continue his role as executive producer and co-showrunner. Josh Cole, the Head of Comedy at BBC Studios Productions, Rob Wilkins, and John Finnemore will also executive produce, and Finnemore will write with Gaiman as a co-writer.
