You will no longer see the most-awaited ‘Constantine’ reboot from J.J. Abrams on HBO Max. This is a piece of sad news for the people anticipating a darker take on the character Constantine. The story follows a violent and antisocial occult detective, and it was supposed to take place in modern-day London. Rumors regarding Abrams looking for a person of color to cast as the main character also caught people’s attention.
The supposed reboot series in HBO Max to be directed by J.J. Abrams is not going to push through in the streaming service in light of recent reports regarding Keanu Reeves’ return for a ‘Constantine’ sequel.
Another source also emphasized the rejection of the show was not a creative choice. Instead, HBO Max axed the ‘Constantine’ reboot series because of too much DC-related stuff in the streaming service.
The HBO Max standalone series about Madame Xanadu from DC Comics suffered the same fate. However, not all hope is lost. Both projects, which are the work of J.J. Abrams, will be put on the market to find a new home. Sources said that Warner Bros. Television and Bad Robot remain high on them and expect them to find new homes.
