Fox has given the green light for a second season of the comedy series Animal Control, featuring Joel McHale. The show, which follows a group of animal control workers navigating the complexities of their jobs, has become the network’s most-streamed scripted debut.
The renewal is a positive move for Fox’s live-action division. While the fate of other shows like Call Me Kat and Welcome To Flatch remains uncertain, Animal Control’s witty and warm workplace comedy has resonated with audiences. McHale stars as Frank Shaw, an outspoken animal control officer with a knack for understanding animals but a cynical attitude toward humans.
The ensemble cast, including Michael Rowland, Vella Lovell, Ravi Patel, Grace Palmer, Alvina August, Kelli Ogmundson, and Gerry Dee, has impressed viewers with their comedic performances. Created by Bob Fisher, Rob Greenberg, and Dan Sterling, Animal Control is produced by Fox Entertainment Studios and distributed by Fox Entertainment Global. The show’s success and positive reception have delighted Fox, as President of Scripted Programming Michael Thorn expressed enthusiasm for the talented cast and creative team behind the series.
