Apple TV+ has decided to cancel Amber Brown, a comedy series aimed at kids and families, after its first season. The show was based on popular books by Paula Danziger and starred Sarah Drew and child actor Carsyn Rose. The decision not to renew the show for a second season was made more than eight months after the 10-episode first season was released on July 29. According to reports, the cast’s contracts have also expired. The show was produced by Boat Rocker and was written and directed by Bonnie Hunt, who was also the executive producer and showrunner. Amber Brown followed the story of a child of divorced parents, played by Rose, as she navigated her new family situation through her drawings and video diary, with Drew playing her mother, Brooks as her mother’s boyfriend, and Inouye as her friend Brandi Colwin.
