FOX announced the second season renewal of their crime thriller series, Accused, by Emmy Award-winning producer Howard Gordon. It is based on a British series of the same name on BBC which ran from 2010-2012. The series had a strong debut, garnering a 2.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 8.4 million viewers on live plus same-day data. In the three days following its debut, it grew to more than 11.3 million multi-platform viewers and a 2.3 rating in the demo, becoming broadcast television’s highest-rated debut in almost two years.
Accused tells vivid and moving stories from the defendant’s perspective through flashbacks. The legal drama series stars Michael Chiklis, Abigail Breslin, Whitney Cummings, Margo Martindale, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Wendell Pierce, Rachel Bilson, Jack Davenport, and Molly Parker.
Billy Porter, Marlee Matlin, Tazbah Chavez, and Michael Chiklis serve as directors. The executive producers are Gordon, Alex Gansa, David Shore, Glenn Geller, Erin Gunn, Jacob Cohen-Holmes, Jimmy McGovern, Sita Williams, Roxy Spencer, Frank Siracusa, John Weber, and Louise Pedersen.
