Prime Video announced the renewal of the sports comedy-drama series A League Of Their Own for its final season. According to the news, the show will return for a four-episode second season to conclude the series.
The show is a series adaptation of the 1992 film of the same name Penny Marshall. A League of Their Own tells the story of a whole generation of women who aspired to play professional baseball. The series earned a lot of fans since it centers on the experiences of diverse and queer women as they assembled the first women’s professional baseball team in the WWII era.
It stars Abbi Jacobson, Chanté Adams, D’Arcy Carden, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Roberta Colindrez, Nick Offerman, Saidah Arrika Ekulona, Kate Berlant, Kendall Johnson, Kelly McCormack, Alex Désert, Priscilla Delgado, Aaron Jennings, Molly Ephraim, Melanie Field, and Dale Dickey.
A League of Their Own is a production of Sony Pictures Television and Amazon Studios in association with Field Trip Productions. Will Graham and Abbi Jacobson are the co-creators and executive producers of the show. Other EPs include Desta Tedros Reff and Hailey Wierengo. Jamie Babbit serves as the pilot’s director and an executive producer. Based on the motion picture Screenplay by Lowell Ganz & Babaloo Mandel. Based on a Story by Kim Wilson & Kelly Candaele.
