Adult Swim cancelled Tuca & Bertie series after its second season. The news came from the series creator Lisa Hanawalt. After being cancelled by Netflix after one season in 2019, the cable network saved the program. The change follows Season 2’s increased teen (12-17) and young female (18-24) viewership for the network (+65% and +38%, respectively), according to Adult Swim’s report from the previous year.
The series follows carefree toucan Tuca and anxious, daydreaming songbird Bertie as they explore their friendship while living in the same apartment building.
It stars Tiffany Haddish and Ali Wong. Along with Raphael Bob-Waksberg, Noel Bright, Steven A. Cohen, Haddish, and Wong, Hanawalt executive produced Tuca & Bertie. The Tornante Company, owned by Michael Eisner, produced the show, and ShadowMachine handled the animation.
