The Mole will feature twelve participants who will have to cooperate on varying missions, testing their stamina and talents, such as getting out of a locked prison cell or looking for sunken treasure.
But within the ensemble is a saboteur known as the Mole, who has been given a secret mission by the producers to thwart the actors’ attempts to maintain the lowest possible earnings while avoiding detection and suspicion.
It becomes increasingly glaring who is not the Mole as each task requires the competitors to answer a question concerning the identity of the impostor. Whoever answers the question incorrectly is immediately eliminated from the tournament. One contestant will ultimately prevail over the competition and face off against the Mole to take home the total cash prize.
The Mole, a reimagined version of the early aughts television success formerly directed by Anderson Cooper that ran for five seasons, made its Netflix debut in 2022 after a 14-year hiatus. Both television shows are based on the original Belgium format, De Mol.
