Surface, the psychological thriller series by Veronica West, is getting a second season on Apple TV+. The series centers on Sophie, a lady who suffered a bad head injury, resulting in severe memory loss.
Season 2 will take place in Sophie’s hometown of London, where she will learn more about her origins and the factors that contributed to her flaws. However, as West intimated during the season finale, the havoc she left in San Francisco will catch up with her.
The series stars Gugu Mbatha-Raw,Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Stephan James, Ari Graynor, Academy Award nominee Marianne Jean-Baptiste, François Arnaud, and Millie Brady. Also, Mbatha-Raw serves as an executive producer, along with West, Reese Witherspoon, and Lauren Neustadter.
“I am thrilled to continue this journey and dive deeper into the tension and mystery of ‘Surface’ with with this brilliant team,” Mbatha-Raw said in a statement. “I love playing Sophie and I can’t wait for fans and new audiences to join us as she enters the dangerous new world of her past in season two. As an actor and executive producer, it’s incredibly meaningful to be bringing this story home to London.”
