Netflix renewed Somebody Feed Phil for season seven. The sixth season of the food and travel series premiered on the streaming service in October 2022.
The series follows Rosenthal as he visits various places around the globe and encounters varying cuisines and cultures. He is best known as the creator and showrunner of the sitcom, Everybody Loves Raymond.
“Somebody Feed Phil”: “What I borrow from sitcoms is I’m always looking for characters. I understand that I am a character. My brother [Richard Rosenthal], who produces the show with me, understands by putting me in certain situations that, for instance, Anthony Bourdain would be very brave and fearless in. He understands that I would not fare as well as him. And that’s fun!” Rosenthal said in an interview.
Lucky Bastards and Zero Point Zero Production, Inc. produce the series. Also, Rosenthal, his brother Rich Rosenthal and John Bedolis on behalf of Lucky Bastards, and Christopher Collins and Lydia Tenaglia on behalf of Zero Point Zero serve as EPs for the series.
The cookbook companion to Rosenthal’s Netflix series Somebody Feed Phil The Book made it to the New York Times bestseller list. Additionally, I’ll Have What Phil’s Having, his first food series, debuted on PBS in 2015. It had two seasons and earned the 2016 James Beard Award for Best Television Program on Location.
