Netflix’s TUDUM Korean content showcase brought about plenty of surprises to anticipating fans, including the official announcement for the season renewal of Hellbound. An adaptation of a well-known South Korean webtoon, Hellbound is a South Korean Netflix Original horror series written and directed by Yeon Sang-Ho (Train to Busan, Peninsula) with the scriptwriter Choi Gyu Suk. In the series, otherworldly creatures appear to take people to hell at a specific future period, which could be minutes or years away.
The drama soared to the top, having viewership and influence coming close to the global sensation Squid Game in the K-Drama library on the streaming service platform. It received a 97 percent score from critics on RottenTomatoes. Subscribers around the world watched the show for 43,480,000 hours. Additionally, it appeared for four weeks on the Non-English TV list, accumulating a total of 142.85 million hours.
After the first season aired on November 19, 2021, there was little to no news regarding a second season. It stars Yoo Ah In, Kim Hyun Joo, Won Jin Ah, Park Jung Min, Yang Ik Jun, Kim Do Yoon, Kim Shin Rok, Ryu Kyung Soo, Lee Re and Im Hyun Kook. With the most-awaited news for fans getting confirmed, the anticipation continues to build.
