After running for three seasons, City on a Hill says its goodbye on the small screen after Showtime announced its cancellation. The series will now end with Season 3 as its finale. Season three premiered in September.
According to sources, the choice was made some time ago, before the longstanding Showtime Networks CEO David Nevins left parent firm Paramount Global and Paramount Media Networks chief Chris McCarthy took over.
“‘City on a Hill’ concluded its successful run on Showtime with its Season 3 finale,” Showtime stated in a press release. “We have had nothing but the best experience working with Kevin Bacon, Aldis Hodge, and the entire cast and crew, led by showrunner Tom Fontana and fellow executive producers, including Jennifer Todd and Jorge Zamacona. We offer our sincerest thanks to everyone.”
The series stars Kevin Bacon and Aldis Hodge, including Lauren E. Banks, Jill Hennessy, and Matthew Del Negro. It centers on the seasoned FBI agent Jackie Rohr and a Boston city prosecutor as they collaborate to solve and control crimes.
Chuck Mclean is the creator of City on a Hill. Fontana, Bacon, and Hodge executive produce the show along with Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, and Barry Levinson.
