As the season 2 premiere of Carnival Row gets delayed, Prime Video releases another heartbreaking news for the fans. The series got an abrupt cancellation meaning it will be returning for its second and final season. The first and second episodes will premiere on Friday, February 17. Additionally, they will release the third and fourth episodes on February 24, the fifth and sixth episodes on March 3, the seventh and eighth episodes on March 10, and the ninth and tenth episodes on March 17.
This epic romantic fantasy series centers on a human detective and a faerie as they rekindle their dangerous affair in a world where fairies and humans tumultuously coexist. It stars Orlando Bloom (The Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean) and Cara Delevingne (Suicide Squad), David Gyasi, Karla Crome, and Indira Varma.
The reason for the cancellation is unknown. However, according to reports, the project apparently underwent a significant overhaul during its pandemic-era delay, with Erik Oleson (Daredevil, The Man in the High Castle) taking over as showrunner. He took over for Marc Guggenheim and Travis Beacham, who originally planned the series to be a feature before adapting it for television.
