Netflix confirmed the renewal of the tennis docuseries Break Point. Production has already started, as the 2023 tennis season is currently underway. The series centers on a select group of players from around the globe who are poised to succeed Serena Williams, Rafael Nadal, and Roger Federer. Part two, or the remaining five episodes, will premiere sometime on June 2023.
The series premiered on January 13 with its first five episodes. Season one featured Félix Auger-Aliassime, Paula Badosa, Matteo Berrettini, Taylor Fritz, Ons Jabeur, Nick Kyrgios, Casper Ruud, Aryna Sabalenka, Maria Sakkari, Ajla Tomljanović, and other well-known tennis players. Break Point season two will continue to follow future stars on and off the court as they play in last year’s Grand Slams and the ATP and WTA tournaments.
“These shows quickly appealed to core fans of golf and tennis, and also recruited brand new fans from all around the world. Like so much of our growing sports slate, the compelling characters, competitive stakes, and vibrant storytelling reveal sides of the game you’ve never seen before, and we’re excited to follow the unpredictable turns of the year ahead,” said Brandon Riegg, VP, Unscripted and Documentary Series, Netflix.
Box to Box Films produces. Martin and Gay-Rees serve as executive producers. Alongside Break Point, Netflix also renewed the golf docuseries, Full Swing.
