Netflix has decided to cancel the workplace comedy Blockbuster after season one. After debuting on November 3, the show had a quiet run and was never able to crack Netflix’s weekly Top 10. Unfortunately, it also got a low score on Rotten Tomatoes, with a 22 percent score from critics and a 45 percent average audience score.
The show centers on Timmy Yoon, an analog dreamer who lives in a 5G world. Timmy and his staff members, including his longtime crush, Eliza, battle to stay relevant after realizing they are operating the last Blockbuster Video in America. Blockbuster stars Randall Park, Melissa Fumero, Olga Merediz, and Tyler Alvarez.
Vanessa Ramos serves as the creator, writer, executive producer, and showrunner. Alongside Ramos, the executive producers David Caspe and Jackie Clarke also serve as writers. John Davis and John Fox are executive producers for Davis Entertainment. Additionally, Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, produces.
