Cartoonito’s Batwheels will get a second season on Cartoon Network and HBO Max. Following its debut, the series quickly rose to the top spot among all original preschool shows on HBO Max and Cartoon Network for boys between the ages of 2 and 5. DC’s first-ever Batman preschool show, Batwheels, features a fast-moving, colorful CGI animation of the Caped Crusader.
Batwheels follows a crew of young sentient supercars as they assist Batman, Batgirl, and Robin in securing Gotham City’s streets. It imparts to children a sense of what it means to be a hero by highlighting the importance of self-confidence, camaraderie, and teamwork.
The series stars Jacob Bertrand, Kimberly Brooks, Mick Wingert, Noah Kaye Bentley, Lilimar, Jordan Reed, and Madigan Kacmar as they lend their voices to the beloved heroic characters. Also, Ethan Hawke voices Batman. Michael G. Stern and Simon J. Smith will become executive producers and continue to take the helm of the preschool series in its upcoming season.
In a press release, the people associated with the series stated:
“It’s been a joyride seeing how ‘Batwheels’ resonated with audiences, and in such a short amount of time. It delivered everything we hoped it would in introducing Batman to the youngest viewers while allowing parents to enjoy their favorite DC Super Hero with their kids,” said Michael Ouweleen, president, Adult Swim, Cartoon Network, Discovery Family, and Boomerang. “Reimagining Batman’s iconic mythos for preschoolers using beloved and original characters has been a creative feat that we will definitely lean into as we expand into a second season.”
“‘Batwheels’ gave preschoolers an animated Batman story to call their own,” said Sam Register, president, Warner Bros. Animation and Cartoon Network Studios. “We’re excited to continue to build on this cool and fun world alongside our partners at Cartoon Network and HBO Max.”
