Despite the series, Avalon, receiving a straight-to-series order last February, ABC has recently announced that they are no longer moving forward with it. The reason for the decision is unsure. However, according to reports, the pilot episode is most likely the reason for its cancellation.
Avalon is based on Michael Connelly’s short story. It follows Detective Nicole “Nic” Searcy of the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department, who runs a small office on Catalina Island. Nic resists being intimidated and is steadfast in her morals. Ironically, her strong moral compass led to her exile to Avalon, Catalina’s largest city. Although she hates the gig, she soon learns that Avalon needs her excellent detective abilities more than she could have imagined.
The series creator was supposed to be David E. Kelley. Serving as executive producer of the series should be Michael Connelly. It stars Neve Campbell, Demetrius Grosse, Alexa Mansour, Steven Pasquale, and Roslyn Ruff.
There is a chance that the drama will be picked up by another network, which means there is still a chance for the fans to see the series.
