FOX announced the season two renewal of the police procedural drama series Alert: Missing Persons Unit for the 2023-2024 season. It premiered on January 8, 2022, and posted 8.5 million multi-platform viewers, a lift of +112% from L+SD. Its multi-platform Season One average of 6.7 million marks an increase of +154% from L+SD.
Alert: Missing Persons Unit follows Police officer Nikki Batista as she joins the special unit after her kid goes missing to help others find their missing loved ones while looking for her own. Nikki and her ex-husband strive to uncover the truth about their lost son. It stars Scott Caan, Dania Ramirez, Adeola Role, and Ryan Broussard.
Academy and Golden Globe-winning actor, singer, and comedian Jamie Foxx and John Eisendrath, serve as co-creators and executive producers of Alert: Missing Persons Unit. Carla Kettner is a showrunner for the sophomore season and is also an EP. Sony Pictures Television and FOX Entertainment co-produce the series.
“Scott, Dania, John, and Jamie have done an incredible job launching Alert and bringing its story into heart-pounding focus, giving us an emotionally intense procedural drama that’s primed for even more success as Carla takes the day-to-day reins, continuing the great work we’ve seen this season,” Michael Thorn, President of Entertainment for FOX Entertainment, said.
Along with this crime drama series, FOX also renewed the crime anthology Accused for season two.
“Accused and Alert stand out as two of this season’s new broadcast and multi-platform success stories. Looking to 2023-24, we’ll continue to deliver on the powerful storytelling coming from both series, building on our incredible partnership with Sony and further solidifying FOX’s strong slate of dramas, giving our schedule tremendous season-to-season stability,” Thorn said in a press release.
